"The Island Bear is very conveniently located in the cneter of Islay, a block away from ameneties, and the revered Bowmore distillery. The propert is nice, clean and lovingly mainted by the couple who also live there and are very helpful. Dunca (the owner) prepared deliciious Scotish breakfast every morning and was a reservoir of Islay knowledge. He knows every body on the Island, and everyone knows him fondly. I had great discussion with Duncan at breakfast every morning, and it was a highlight of my trip. Thank you for your hospitality."

"You simply will be hard pressed to find a nicer B and B anywhere. The hosts have literally put their heart and soul into providing accommodations and stays that enhance your beautiful Islay visit. Everywhere we went, locals were in agreement with how pleasant and hard working the hosts were. A few lamented that only guests could experience the dining experience offered at Glenegedale house. They are both incredibly hard working and involved in improving Islay for visitors and locals alike. You will not be disappointed should you be lucky enough to book one of these rooms."
