Relatively feels modern when you are inside the building compared to other more traditional style ryokans. Facilities look new and clean but saw cockroaches inside the room on two different locations. Super convenient location surrounded by many shops and restaurants. Nice onsen and very good dining experience in terms of both breakfasts and kaiseki dinner. Wish the ryokan helped with bringing up and down our luggage.
I was able to park my car and checkin without issues. The hotel room was clean and spacious. I enjoyed the dinner, which included specialty food from around the prefecture. The onsen was also nice and clean. Overall great experience.
Overall a great stay. Staff was nice, room was clean and large, bed was comfortable. Public baths were lovely. Dinner was delicious but so much food. I'd stay again. Loved the town, hike up to the shrine, and sake museum next door.
The hotel is closed to Kotohiragu. It was convenient for us to be back to the hotel to enjoy the onsen right after the walk to the shrine. The property is clean and staff are nice. The room has enough space for us to open our suitcases. The hotel also has a car park, which is great for tourists who are on road trip like us.
My first ryokan/onsen & kaiseki meal experiences and staff were all great in helping make me and all guests as comfortable as possible. Top notch service and excellent location.
Nice and cozy place, felt like being in Spirited Away!
Somethings looked a bit ‘used’, but had clearly had a light refresh recently.
Everything was very clean and the staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful.
Modern Japanese style hotel with spacious rooms. Decorated with Japanese bamboo mattress and no shoes inside the while hotel.
Front desk and baggage staff are so helpful. Dinner included free drinks and service is prefect. Breakfast has Japanese bento with buffet choices. I will recommend this to my friend.
Magnificent ryokan experience! Friendly staff, clean private baths, and delicious breakfast. Be aware that no one can wear shoes in the building - they are stored in lockers near the door. It keeps the hotel and tatami mats spotlessly clean. I loved this hotel so much!
- Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Even though sometimes English didn't work very well, they still did their best to understand and help.
- It's right at the most popular place. Very easy to access shops and the main sightseeing place.
- Lots of free services, e.g., welcome snacks, ice bars, drinks, laundries.
- Public hot spring was spacious and comfortable. I especially liked their laying bath.
- Dinner and breakfast were well made and delicious. Breakfast may have some crowded time, but except that, everything was pretty good
Absolutely stunning! Traditional Japanese style room with beautiful furnishings and lovely touches, like a gorgeous tea and’s coffee set. We had two bedrooms and a living area with a gorgeous soaking tub. Paid for the half-board and had a fabulous dinner and breakfast. The food was as beautiful as it was delicious. The onsen experience was amazing. Absolutely loved the private onsens. Perfect for someone who was a little shy. Snacks throughout the day. Could not have asked for a more perfect experience!
Terrible for sleeping because there is a very bright motion detector light outside the ensuite bathroom that you cannot deactivate. I asked at the front desk about this and they confirmed. It is possible I misunderstood.
Otherwise the staff and the facility is spectacular. You must be prepared to enjoy an authentic Japanese experience.
Superb room, fantastic food and service. Great Onsens. Very friendly and helpful staff especially in the car park and restaurant.
Highly recommend to anybody and we hope to return soon.
The food service was exceptional.
