Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for staying with us and thank you so much for your comments about the sand flies. The sand flies is the unsolvable issue here since there is no specific reme or lotion to protect the sand flied but you can buy the insect repellent or mosquito repellent for the basic protection. However, you can try the insect repellent named "Aerogard". It informed that can protect the sand flies. Since sand flies are so small then you might feel nothing when they bite you but you will feel itchy and infected (because of scratching) after that. The best suggestions from us are; 1) Try to avoid staying close the shading or thick shrubs. 2) Apply insect repellent or mosquito repellent as often as possible. 3) Wash the bites by pure water or soap and apply a cold compress (an ice pack/cool water). After that apply the soothing creme such as Chamomile Creme on the bites. Do not apply any anesthetic creme or Anti-allergy creme that might cause burn because of the sun shine. 4) Thai people use "Red Lime Paste/Limestone Paste" apply on the bites to relieve the itchy and the Scars. *remark* "Red Lime Paste/Limestone Paste" can be bought in Thailand. It is mixture of grounded limestone and water = calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2 ) that made from a high temperature baked cockleshells. Add some water then pounded into an edible paste. Most of the guests understood that the bites were from the bed bug that we are sure that there are no bed bug in all our rooms.
