"An excellent guesthouse! We stayed here on the way back from Jokulsarlon. kirkjubæjarklaustur is only about 10min drive away, with lots of dining options. The room was spacious and clean. We had a room with a private bathroom, which was really convenient. The room stayed really warm, and we couldn't keep the window open wide enough to stay cool during the night... Breakfast was excellent! "

"This stay was a highlight of our trip. When you turn off route 1, you have to drive 5km over a dirt road, through an absolutely beautiful moss covered lava field. As the dirt road nears the cliffs, I recommend that you stop the car and get out to experience the absolute solitude and stark beauty of this location. You are surrounded by untrammeled lava field and cliffs and waterfalls and nothing but a few water birds. You can’t hear or see route 1, nor do you see any guest house. As you turn to...
