"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. If you're on vacation here,...

The Drake Hotel Plymouth

8/10 Good

"Did not look like much from the outside, but was well presented on the inside and parking was, let’s say interesting. Contact the hotel beforehand to ensure a space. The desk staff could not have been kinder, including taking our many pieces of luggage up to the third floor (no elevator) The room was large, comfortable, and well laid out for women travelers (a dressing table with mirror and plugs for a hairdryer- an issue at many of the places we have stayed in). The majority of guests were women, so obviously this is well known. The bathroom was excellent as was the shower, and everything was clean and in good repair. The breakfast room was wonderful with a great cooked breakfast, however the cold buffet was our choice with fruit, yogurt, cereals (and an array of gluten free cereals) after two weeks of mostly full English breakfasts, a welcome change. Interesting coffee machine with multiple choices made as you wait - and delicious too! My first impressions weren’t great, but this was definitely a case of don’t judge a book by its cover. A great place to stay, and highly recommend for female travelers. The location is good. No views but a short walk to the Barbican, restaurants and harbor life. In the other direction Plymouth Hoe and the seafront, all walkable."

Crowne Plaza Plymouth by IHG

Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

8/10 Good

"Very comfortable hotel ideally placed seven minutes to the railway station and directly on the Royal walk to the hoe would definitely stay again"

Bodmin Jail Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This is a great place to stay, look for deals, prices vary depending on weather you want to have Bar food or go full fine dining, Bar option is a good way to start. Self guided option is much more cost effective than a tour guide. The staff are very friendly and helpful 🙂"

Welbeck Manor and Golf

10/10 Excellent

"Great room, helpful, pleasant staff and superb evening meals . The hotel is set in stunning surroundings."
