"Amazing experience! Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, close to many attractions. Highly recommend!"

"Absolutely perfect! Wow!"

"This was my first time staying in a Ryokan-style accommodation and it was better than expected. Big room japanese style with tatami floors and direct view to the Kyoto tower. They provide yakatas. Accesible to bus routes and the shinkansen station. Traditional breakfast served everyday in the most traditional way. Food was amazing. The public baths were nice after walking more than 25k steps every day. The hotel is really well located, with a luxurious feeling, excellent amenities and friendly...

"Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and well maintained. My wife and I really enjoyed the traditional Japanese inn experience that was offered."

"Tout était parfait"

"We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Comfortable futons and bedding, a wonderful hot communal bath, beautiful breakfasts cheerfully served. The area is within walking distance of the Kamu River for strolling, the Imperial Palace, Heian Jingu Temple, Philosopher’s Path and many other temples and sites."

"Confusing processes. A beautiful place but everything takes long. Probably not enough staff?"

"Impeccable service. Excellent Japanese breakfast although you have a choice of an English breakfast if you prefer that. Someone is always there to greet you and help you if you need directions or a taxi or anything else. The property is beautifully maintained. It is an older, beautiful building and very authentic. The garden outside our room was peaceful and beautiful. I enjoyed the public bath as well as our own wooden bathtub and shower. Tea was served to us every afternoon when we returned...

"This is my first long stay in Kyoto. So I want to stay in traditional Japanese style and this Ryokan served me well. Very closed to Nishiki Market that full of Japanese style street food. Even a bit far from train station but it surround by 3 different Line that easy to planning daily travel. Warm welcome from Ryokan owner, friendly and good communication in English. The room is clean, wide space with softly Futon that make me sleep well. I recommended to reserve including breakfast. It is...

"be aware that english is very limited otherwise it's a wonderful place to stay.."

"Absolutely wonderful stay at this Ryokan. The staff were so friendly, kind and informative. They showed us around the facility and made sure we had everything we needed. They have the best breakfast and tea. I love the private bath options and the quaint library and Japanese garden. Highly recommend this gem of a place and hope to return again in the future."

"We had a great stay at Omiya. Yes, the building is old and some parts have seen better days (our tatami floor was very stained). But, the location is fantastic. Close to Kyoto station and less than a 20 min walk from the hustle and bustle - it’s located in a nice and quiet residential area. It’s a cheap stay and the public bath is clean and great (both of us had the male and female baths to ourselves most evenings). Futons are comfy and I’ve slept on the exact same in other ryokan. Pillows can...

"Our stay here was the highlight of a three week vacation in Japan. It is an unique, deep immersion into Japan culture and hospitality while still being comfortable for non-Japanese. The tranquility and quality of the environment, the accommodations, and the food were exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. They savored their role as guides into the culture and traditions that they offered. While it was a very traditional experience, the facilities...
