"This is my first long stay in Kyoto. So I want to stay in traditional Japanese style and this Ryokan served me well. Very closed to Nishiki Market that full of Japanese style street food. Even a bit far from train station but it surround by 3 different Line that easy to planning daily travel. Warm welcome from Ryokan owner, friendly and good communication in English. "‘Japanese style’ experience. Futons on the floor, nice bath house, excellent coffee, staff was very nice. Problem, we booked for 4 people, paid in advance for what we thought was 4 people. When we arrived, we had reservations for 2 people. They accommodated 4 in one room stating we would have some small ancillary fees, but then we were charged us an additional ~400 dollars when we checked out. "Beautiful ryokan! Has the perfect balance between tradition Japanese style house and modern twist. The private onsen was amazing, the washing machine in the house was so convenient and easy to use (with the help of Google translate) multiple bathrooms, and ampule of space. The small kitchenette with a fridge also included. I would recommend this place to any traveller. Theres nothing to complain about."

The size felt just right, the ambiance was lovely, and the staff were warm and accommodating, they even helped arrange a massage reservation for me when my phone wouldn't dial out.
