This property is fairly good and clean from inside. Jimmy, the contact for this property is very helpful. The rooms have been done up well though the bathroom didn't have any provision to keep clothes while showering. There was a shelf on top of the toilet seat but too high to reach. Also expired milk powder sachets for tea Food wise, portions are good. Fruit salad bowl has freshly cut fruits and they are flexible if we want any item from the menu to make changes in it . The 1 star is because of the very dirty approach to the property. There is a gate from the lane to walk a few metres to the property. Outside the gate was a pile of rubbish which is thrown by some of the people living in neighbouring houses. Really disgusting. Stray dogs who sleep on the ramp leading into the property. A broken building with bricks inside the gate to the right. The stairs inside the property are difficult to climb as each step is so high, it seems to save money the stairs have been made this way. The first self stairs is convenient to climb but second and third set is most uncomfortable. When you are in the hospitality business, these need to be taken care of. The old city of Jodhpur near the Fort has very narrow lanes with only autorickshaws for commute, the lanes are dumped with rubbish. The ride is extremely bumpy . I will not recommend staying in that area.

Its actually Juna

We stayed in Juna Mahal for a night & it was an ok experience, bathrooms are very small..from hygiene point of view this hotel is big no, coz there r lots of lizards on hotel's walls(true to its name,Juna=Old)...The hotel is located in a very busy & congested neighborhood.Do ask the hotel authorities for a pick-up, or else you'll never be able to locate this hotel.. Food was ok,the view from roof top restaurant is good bt not scenic.. If u r looking for a night or 2 to stay then its fine or else one can find many other options...

What an experience!

Located in the old city area this little hotel is really worth staying at. Friendly and helpful service, very atmospheric and the food in the rooftop restaurant is really good with great views. I was fortunate to be there during a festival where evening kite flying/fighting was a key feature and it was magic, a memory I will never forget. Easy walk to the main attractions once you find your way around. A real feel of staying in India in all the best ways.

Lovely fort view

Juna Mahal is a stunning old building, in very good condition, and well maintained. It was a little noisy, as the room faced into the courtyard and all the goings on of the family and other guests were loud and clear. The room was beautiful, with gorgeous details and a very comfortable bed. The only thing that really bothered us was the dirty rooftop restaurant, it was run by 2 young boys, and they obviously had no idea how to keep a place clean, there were always dirty ashtrays standing around, the tables were not wiped unless one asked, and the crockery was rather grubby. A pity really, because the position and view up there was beautiful! The boys were however very friendly and helpful. The owner was very helpful too, and organised us an exceptionally nice driver to drive us to Udaipur.
