"We absolutely loved staying at Cerro lodge. We were staying in this area of Costa Rica for a few days to see Scarlet Macaws and other birds. After arriving in the afternoon, we saw macaws, a motmot and howler monkeys in the trees right next to the restaurant from their deck. "Ac was not working. Jacuzzi was not working. Faucets in the property do not work. Even the soap was watered down, showing it was cheaply maintained. This really takes from a vacation vibe. No housekeeping whatsoever. Dead bugs everywhere. Not sanitary. No housekeeping at all during stay"

"This place really sucks, seems pretty nice in pictures but has been neglected, apparently for years. There are things like the balcony light not have a switch, the one of the celling fas not working, a single ac unit for the whole place. For these day and age not having Wifi, seems pretty ridiculous. The kitchen is supposed to be semi-equiped, but there is almost nothing. No cookware not utensils, not even coffee mugs. In general everything is in a very poorly and abandoned state. "

"Everyone was so helpful. They let us write to the place we were staying. It was a little difficult to find the office when you see the physical sign walk up the path and you’ll see it right there. It was noted. We just didn’t know what we were looking for, but a sweet gentleman came out and found us and let us where we needed to be. Breakfast was very good as was the coffee. "Clean room and steps from the pool. The air conditioner is ice cold and the bed very comfy. We also liked the spacious shower. Pops ice cream is to die for and we enjoyed the short walk to mantas beach where we saw many monkeys with their babies, a sloth and her baby too along with the resident macaws! The pool is clean huge and very welcoming!! We liked the iguanas sunning beside the pool too. We would stay again, very private and abundant wildlife too"

"Pros: We arrived early because we weren’t sure how long it would take us to get there from the airport and they were able to let us check in early. "Everything is first class all the way. You are treated with respect and professionalism. The staff are all very nice. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are well stocked with towels and accessories. I highly recommend staying at this hotel/resort. It costs a bit more but in this case you get exactly what you pay for. "

"The pools were a lot of fun. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. Our room had a fridge, microwave, and dishwasher which allowed us to get food at the local market. Self-laundry service was convenient as well."

"We paid months ahead as with many other accommodations, which we've never had any issues with. This place was hard to find so we called to clarify directions, and we were told if we didn't have a 4x4 that it wasn't possible to get to (which was NOT mentioned on the booking site on Expedia) We were left to scramble and find a place to stay last minute which was inconvenient and cost a lot more. We were also informed we would be given the money back but months later we still haven't seen it. "
