"We had a two night stay at the Solar Antigo Coimbra. The Pros about the property are: unique accomodations, very nice staff & nice breakfast brought to your room each morning. The cons: The room (at least we the one we got on the main level) was very small, there is no privacy between the shower, toilet and the rest of the room. "Despite its location on a busy street, this hotel is centrally located, near the river, and the historic city center. Highly insulated, the small, but efficient, rooms are quiet and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is superb, served in a beautiful, light-filled penthouse room. The roofdeck, on a moonlight night is a plus. "

"Rooms are tiny but clean. The shared kitchen is nice to have though we didn't cook. You must be comfortable with self check-in and texting for information. The app was slow to send through so that was a little annoying (that is, I had a quick response according to the time stamp, but the app didn't push it through for hours). Parking is free if you are willing to walk but it's probably better than driving in the medieval streets! Overall, good for a night or two."

"This is a very special property. Upon check in, we were told the legend of Pedro and Innes, a tragic and romantic story that allegedly took place here. This set the tone for our exploration of this grand and historic accommodation. The public lounges are exquisite, and the library is full of old-world charm.
