Very pleasant stay!

Really lovely AL near the Mondego and a quick walk across the Santa Clara bridge into the old town. Lots of cute cafes and bars nearby as well. Will definitely stay again the next time we're in Coimbra.

Compact room in good location. Kind and nice staff. The room is somewhat tight, but clean and managed well. Huge parking lot nearby. Easy access to Coimbra downtown (less than 10 min walk). Great restaurant located in the same building.

Clean rooms and staff very helpful. The outdoor shared terraces are beautiful and quiet. Restaurants are abundant and everything is very walkable. Safe and friendly neighborhood. One downfall was the wifi was not very good. We had lots of data on our esim so it was okay but would be challenging if you are relying on wifi.

Perfect landlord, perfect stay, perfect location

What a great stay...we only booked for one night but upon arrival we were so amazed that we asked right away if we could stay another night and so we cancelled the other hotel and changed our plans completely. The landlord was also such an amazing host. We could park our car in front of the hotel and we enjoyed an amazing breakfast next to the hotel. Perfect location with a perfect host and perfect stay. All in all, we are coming back

It was great, right beside the main area of the city. Beautiful view of the water, and good common kitchen. Facilities were clean, tiny bit of wear and tear, but all round good stay.

Okay for one night . Great location. Walking distance to old town. Room was clean and small. Bed and sheets were comfy. Missing blinds on one of the window. Water damage paint on the wall. During our stay there was the Feira Popular taking place one the other side of the street, loud music until 2 am. The room was shaking because of the loud music.

Highly recommended

The unit we had was on the 3rd floor but since the elevator was temporarily out of service, Andre, the manager carried our bags up for us. He was most accommodating. He hand the night assistant, Phillipe is also very helpful. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and there is free parking at the Convento Sao Francisco is a short 5 min walk away and it is open from 7am to Midnight so we parked our car there and either walked or took cabs to any place we wanted. I would highly recommend JR Suites.

It was fine, nothing special or terrible. We never received the check-in email, but luckily someone was onsite to let us in. That was literally our only interaction with staff. Walk across the bridge to get into town, and if traveling with kids, there is a cute little park with exact (but scaled for kids) replicas of many of Portugal's (and it's current and former colonies) most famous sites, almost across the street. No onsite parking, but a big paid lot next door. Room was small but adequate, had a mini fridge and coffee, and there is a balcony on the 4th floor.

We had the unfortunate circumstance of staying on the top floor which meant that our room was only a half room because the sloping ceiling made half of it unusable. The bed was not comfortable and it sloped to one side because the floor was uneven. There was also some clear mold around the bathroom. The first floor also smelled like fish. The location was good and the girl at the front desk was very nice, but that was all that was good about it.

Good basic hotel in Coimbra

Coimbra historic sites were all within easy walking distance of the hotel as were a variety of eating establishments. While we were there street parking in front of the hotel and the next door public parking lot were free between 7pm - 8am and on Sunday. Never really interacted with any staff member. We arrived after hours but hotel emailed instructions allowed us to access our room quickly.
