Casa del Alux is a clean, quiet, very well-maintained property within easy walking distance to the beach. It was a relief to return there at the end of the day!

I’ll try to be fair. The room was very comfortable. Clean, bed was comfortable. Porch, hammocks, were great. Basically.inside the room was five stars. But… First, we arrived at the property without any instructions from the owner. That made it difficult after a long day of traveling. However once we got the owner on the phone he sent instructions quickly. Then, Outside the room was a different story. The property sits right on a lagoon that floods every morning. We had to walk through eight inches of lagoon water in the courtyard both mornings we were at the property. And not the cleanest water. We were on the island mid November. It is the rainy season. This property is down a road that is totally flooded with dirty water. We walked through it for both days we were there. Pretty disgusting. Maybe different time of year it would be different.

The property was absolutely excellent! We stayed for 5 nights and would gladly book a stay here again. Everything was clean and safe. It's a great escape from the bustle of the city center but everything is still very accessible by foot.

Super schöne und ruhige Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, wurde regelmässig geputzt (danke Betty!) und die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Für uns der beste Platz auf der Insel. Die Sonnenaufgänge am Morgen über der Lagune sind wunderschön. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Die Abende in der Hängematte auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf die Lagune. Die Lage war ist gut. Keine lauten Nachtclubs in der Nachbarschaft und trotzdem ist alles fußläufig zu zureichen. Die Ausstattung war absolut ausreichend für uns. Für Fragen steht täglich von ca. 9-13 Uhr die Reinigungsdame zur verfügung. Bei uns waren die Nachbarn fast alle angenehm ruhig. Auch die Waschbären waren nicht allzu laut. Insgesamt haben wir sehr schöne Tage in der Casa del Alux verbracht.

Amazing place! It's just a bit outside the busiest area of Holbox, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is especially good and comfortable, A/C works very well, the kitchen is equipped to cook the basics. The room was also extremely clean and taken cared of every day.

The place was roomy and had all the amenties we needed. We appreciated the outdoor sitting area with hammock for lazy afternoons. It was down a very quiet street too. Also appreciated the wifi. The shower pressure was the only downfall.

Me enviaron instrucciones por email antes de mi llegada para que hiciera check in sin contacto y además muchas recomendaciones de actividades en la isla, me encantó ese detalle! En la habitación hay cafetera, frigobar, microondas y muchos cubiertos, el espacio es amplio y afuera hay hamacas para que te relajes. La zona es muuuuuy tranquila y se nota que si hacen limpieza, dormí muy bien. La próxima vez que viaje a Holbox seguramente me hospedaré ahí.

La habitación está super bonita, muy limpio, me gustó mucho su aroma, el comedor con todo lo necesario y una vista espectacular. El amanecer es un espectáculo natural y en las noches se pueden contemplar las estrellas con el sonido de la laguna, una experiencia sensacional. Superó mis expectativas por mucho.

Hobox isla de ensueño

Me llevo un excelente recuerdo de la Isla de Holbox... Comenzando por el hospedaje, en el cual fue muy placentero ya que la habitación es muy amplia, agradable y limpia además de un precio muy accesible...cuenta con todos los servicios y es un excelente lugar para relajarse y disfrutar... La atención fue excelente por el sr. Willy, que en todo momento fue muy atento... Pienso regresar al mismo lugar pronto... Cómo recomendación para las parejas es que prueben en el centro la pizza de langosta y si les toca conocer a don Leo (músico bohemio) se llevarán un rato muy agradable...

Located in a tranquil spot on the lagoon away from the hustle and bustle of the resort strip, this lovely 4-unit vacation rental is still within walking distance of the beach, all the food and drinks in town, and the nature preserve. There are only 4 units on site, so it's quite private and quiet and the fence makes it all feel secure (not that Holbox feels unsafe in any way). Good communication with the owner and staff, despite our minimal Spanish. Amenities are relatively minimal but you have what you need for a a home-away-from-home feeling. There was a bit of construction noise during the day due to it being a developing area. However, I will take a little sawing over screaming kids and endless ATV taxis any day. Overall Casa Alux isn't all the right choice for someone who wants a full-service resort feel, but if you prefer quiet, less crowds and a kitchen (!!!), it's a delightful option at a good price.
