Loved the TeePee huts in the canopy. Pure relaxation and pristine quiet. Staff was topknotch and always involved with the guests. Worthy of a redo but we will fly into Bocas next time. Driving to Almirante was challenging and lengthy.

all the staff is awesome: Melanie at reception, China, Kapi, Evelyn at the bar, the house keeping and more. even the dogs were great. the food was muy bueno. it was a positive and joyful vibe.

Nice private room with AC and hostel vibes

We had a great stay and even decided to stay an additional night. We had a private room with AC, which was excellent! The room was silent and we enjoyed it a lot! Super friendly staff and lots of activities to mix up the guests. If you are too old for dorms but still love the hostel atmosphere and vibes (like we do at the age of 45), get a private room at Selina Red Frog - it´s a perfect combination.

It is called Selina at red frog beach....it is not on the beach....it is 20 min walk to the beach....a snickers bar is $3 and drinks $8 , pancakes $11 and the 10 min boat to get there is $7 each...that is a joke. We will never go back. A big rip off.

Jungle Paradise

I love Selina Red Frog - very beautiful jungle location and great decor. Have stayed here at least 3 times when visiting Panama. Not right on the beach, but the A/C makes it worth it. The service at the restaurant was ridiculously terrible. I do not have words to describe how indifferent, slow and rude our waitress was. But don't let this stop you from staying here. Eat somewhere else.

Agréable séjour en teepee bois dans la jungle.

Très bonne adresse sur Bastimentos, hostel écologique dans la jungle. Séjour en teepee en bois de grand confort (il ne manque qu’un frigo, même s’il est disponible à la cuisine commune). Bonne literie, magnifique vue sur la jungle depuis la terrasse du logement. Présence de grenouilles rouges, paresseux et capucins. Bar restaurant sans prétention mais efficace. Ambiance auberge de jeunesse très sympathique. Départ d’excursions organisées sur site. Je recommande chaleureusement.

Pas d eau dans la chambre, on nous dit que ça revient dans 10min mais 4h plus tard soit le soir toujours rien et le monsieur qui réglait cela allait partir sans rien nous dire, on lui demande ce qu’il en est, il nous dit que le problème sera réglé le lendemain. Nous lui demandons de changer de chambre et il passe le relais à sa collègue qui elle nous trouve une autre chambre… La première chambre familiale a l étage était sympa mais nous avons été déplacé dans une standard qui sentait vraiment fort la cave et l’humidité. Au restaurant beaucoup de choses pas disponible et pas assez de table pour manger. En résumé beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité.

Beautiful place in the middle of the jungle and about five minutes from the beach. Very relaxing, nice vibe, no loud music. Just loud enough to keep a nice atmosphere. Young people working there are also very nice and easy going. Most, if not all of them are at least bilingual. One cool thing is that Selina organizes different group walks such as to a far away beach, star gazing on the beach, or searching in the jungle for wildlife.

Selina was extremely run down. Very bad service. Extremely dirty. No food available everyday at the restaurant. Wifi was horrible. Rooms we unfinished and had bugs. They dont even finish the rooms with curtains. They just spray paint windows. Horrible place.

My First and Last Visit

You don't want to stay in Selina. Hygiene levels all around the hostel and the quality of the rooms are not on the standard. The staff is friendly and helpful and were willing to help always. One problem, though, is with the style and atmosphere. You don't know who is actually working and who is just hanging around the premises. It is a bit too relaxed and hippie place, more like a volunteer camp than a hostel, which is a business in the real world. As a Global operator, while renovating, it should not be an issue to close the sections entirely and not sell rooms from the middle of the works. According to the renovations, the information was given while making the reservation. The issue was how do you actually conduct the works. I was planning to stay for a week, but half was enough...

Best vibes

Very very nice place and it’s all about warm and good vibes. We didn’t meet people over 35 there but anyone would enjoy their welcoming atmosphere. Our family recommend it!!!

Poor value, good location

When we entered the room for the first time we were hit with a strong smell like moth balls and a musty odor. The sliding glass door to the ground level “balcony” would not lock. We notified the desk and after two hours it was fixed temporarily. The “balcony” was small and crowded by overgrown trees. The room was functional but rather unappealing. The cost per night was quite high and overall it was a poor value. It did have a good location about a 10 to 15 minute walk to Red Frog Beach. We paid extra in our room price for breakfast and then had to pay for our coffee and tea...seriously.

Selinas opholdsareal er utrolig hyggeligt, men desværre er værelserne fuldstændig inficeret med skimmelsvamp, hvilket trak gevaldigt ned.
