Absolutely amazing and special experience. Mr. Kelly gave us a great tour of the farm and made sure we were able to get to and from the hotel.

This lodge is far more than a hotel. It is an experience. They take excellent care of you. The food is amazing and the details in preperation is top quality. My spouse and I enjoyed the realxed atmosphere but also the activities. We went on the wildlife tour, the bat caves and snorkeling (arranged by La Loma). All were fun. Be aware that you are in the jungle with jungle noises at night and no walls. After the first night, we got used to the sounds and actually found them soothing. From the cocao tea and muffins at your door before you wake, to the incredible sunsets from the dining room, it is an excellentexperience. I'm sad we had to leave.
I could easily write a three-page review about our experience at La Loma, but I’ll keep it short: what an unforgettable stay! Three days of pure bliss – we even tried to extend our time there. We travel a lot and stay in many wonderful hotels around the world, but this experience truly stood out. The open-air bungalow was simply magical, and every morning we woke up to a warm cup of freshly brewed cacao tea delivered to our room — such a thoughtful touch. The food, mostly sourced from their own garden, was exceptional. The jungle baths, the laid-back luxury, the little attentions, the treatments — everything was perfect. We joined almost all the activities, and each one was a delight. It was an experience we’ll never forget. Thank you again for making our stay so remarkable and thank you Aaron!
We loved our immersion in nature, wellness, and excellent food and service! Gorgeous and comfortable open-air accomodations in the middle of the jungle. Our family of 3 stayed for 5 nights in the Queen Rainforest treehouse. It was a bit of a hike to get to our room (fine for us, but noting for other travelers who may have limited mobility), but WOW, what a view and cool experience. We saw several monkeys, sloths, and red frogs just walking around the property. The staff took care of all of our needs -- luggage, activities, transportation, etc. The food and drinks deserve their own special category -- nearly all of the ingredients come from the onsite farm -- and are prepared to absolute perfection at each meal. I highly recommend La Loma, if you are willing to step out of the ordinary and experience something completely unique!
Enjoyable stay on an island - but we had higher expectations. You get picked up in the harbour, works perfectly fine. The lodge was half open to nature and really fantastic. Dark wood materials, comfortable bed, shower half outdoors with nice eco friendly products. Be prepared to get some exercise while climbing up to lobby/dinner area. Dinner was average and breakfast as well. Missed "taste/flavour". The tour on the farm was nice but in the end it is all planted there and a little of everything (the chocolate is just a small part of the tour) and we just had something else imagined. Service decent, very varied between people. On return not very impressed by the boat service back to Boca. A nice experience nut not sure I would do it again.
Absolutely stunning property. Serene and a great place to disconnect. Staff and owner were friendly and supportive. La Loma did a nice job accommodating dietary issues. I'd highly recommend a stay.
Tips for visitors:
Visitors should consider building in a contingency day in case an activity gets rained out.
One of our party had mobility issues. The family treetop I think would be a good choice. The stairs aren't as steep between the meal place and lodging. Hiking poles also helped with getting up and down the stairs to the dock.
I did the bat tour and bioluminescence tour through them, both super fun. I wore a rash guard top and swim pants for the bat tour and thought that was a good choice.
Suggestions for property:
Every meal is well done for the food that it is, but it would be a great to have a built in either/or choice for the meal so you don't feel like a burden if you'd prefer a different type of food.
The morning muffins are delicious. Consider giving each guest two :).
We loved Everything. The room, open to the jungle, sleeping under mosquito netting. Looking at the jungle while taking a shower. The common space with a virw to the water. The food excellent, but the staff was the best. If you are looking to get away from everything, surrounded by calming energy, this is the place for you.
And they do have activities that they can arrange.
La Loma was a beautiful escape into the jungle. The accommodations and public area were beautiful. Our host, Juan, was amazing! We enjoyed sharing meals with other visitors and our tour of the property with Mr. Kelly. Sleeping amidst the jungle overnight was a magical experience. Overall, a wonderful stay and would recommend!

The service and accommodations are spectacular. And the food amazing. It was a shame for no yoga, and the kayaks and some equipment, like lighting on the pathways could be improved. Would love to see larger garden for more home sourced foods! Loved the wildlife and the organised tours were really perfect !
Endroit magique mais aucune explication sur les activites a faire et l'assistant manager Juan Carlos est specialement incompétent. Dommage d'etre dans un lieu aussi incroyable et que le service client soit aussi impersonnel et superficiel .
Such a special unique experience with amazing food and staff. Stayed here three nights the first night took some getting used to the heat and bugs but fell more in love with this property each night. We crammed as many excursions in as we could and we’re able to fit almost all of them in two days. They are also very reasonably priced. Definitely a small hike to the main lodge. The bungalows are very close to the main lodge. If you like adventure and the outdoors definitely stay at la Loma.
