"Such a wonderful stay here! Staff were absolutely perfect, food was amazing, the common areas are spacious, comfortable and inviting. Our room was clean, large and had all the amenities we could want or need. I can't say enough good things about the Hidden Gem!"

"The food service is EXTREMELY SLOW. Slow for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu never changes. We ate the same thing everyday. They force you to get the buffet at breakfast because the A La Carte option took us 45 mins to get our breakfast. The beach was amazing. The pool was good. Boring hotel. No life. No music. They don't change the bed sheets in your room they just redo the bed. I won't be staying here ever again."
"I feel split- the room was nice, clean, and decently modern. The pool areas and beach were nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and nice; however the restaurants and service on the other amenities were not. While most of the wait staff were nice and helpful, no one seemed cognizant of time. I mean, like it would take 2-3 hours to get our meals at the restaurant, with just waiting on either to be served, waiting on drinks/food or waiting on the check. This was at several of the locations (that wasn’t a “fast food” type place). And the food was subpar. Tried to order room service and waited on hold for 7 minutes before getting disconnected. Tried to order poolside service on the app that they advertised, waited an hour for a Diet Coke and appetizer and never received this (was later told the app system was down so they never received the order). While the property is beautiful and I do recognize they tried their best to be communicative (I received emails/texts every day about daily updates); it seems like the inconsistency between staff members and service was the biggest drawback for me and the other members in my group."
Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort
6/10 Okay
"The pool and surroundings were great. There is not a beach to swim so we spent lots of time traveling to the beaches. Shuttle to beach only runs certain days so you to have to pay for taxi cabs which are around $50USD each way if you visit on the off shuttle days. It's located far from tourist attractions so taxi fare is constantly needed-$50USD or more each way. There are no evening events(they do have bars with music available) I am in my forties and even I was bored in the evenings here, there is also no gift shop. There was a woman with a souvenir table tucked away around a hidden corner we only found the morning we left. There are very few restaurants. Castle View was the best for brunch and dinner. Go see Julisia, Sherry-Ann, Kira and the Manager. They took such great care of us on our friends 45th birthday trip. They are FANTASTIC!!!
The resort was empty the entire weekend yet, Sunday at checkout, guest services was unable to accommodate my request for a one hour later check out as a Wyndham rewards member. We spent two hours by the pool waiting for our shuttle service in our travel attire. They did hold our bags while we waiting which is appreciated. Overall it is good. However, if you are looking for hotel that provides entertainment or any special accommodation it's not the most convenient. Next time I visit Barbados, I will explore other resort options over the Wyndham Grand Barbados. "
"The layout of the property is perfect. Close proximity to pool and beach. Pool has a beautiful shape. Pool bar and restaurant integrated. Beautiful vegetation and flowers all around. It is so enticing that many birds including humming birds, toads, frogs, lizards, and cats, are all attracted to the property.
Rooms have a fantastic patio facing all of this, perfect for your morning coffee or evening relaxation.
The beach is second-to-none. Soft white sand, warm water, nice waves.
Ridiculously relaxing.
Possibly the best layout of any resort in Barbados.
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful."
"I’m writing this review because the reviews were a big part of my decision making on my vacation . I am so glad I decided on Sugar Bay ! When we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and a nice cold beer Natalie at the reception was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to us regarding the hotel and then a wonderful gentleman I believe his name was Dave showed that to our room and just explained a few details. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean the view was stunning. The beach it’s absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach .The Reef bar was right on the beach which serves delicious frozen drinks and had amazing bartenders Re-Shawn , Damion and Xavier to name a few . The fruit kabobs serves on the beach was a nice treat. The pool was nice with a swim up bar but we spent most of our time at the beach .The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were served in the Reef restaurant.
There was a wide selection of food I personally I think there was something for everyone. There are three restaurants and during your stay you can have one dinner at the one of your choice . We chose Sizzle steakhouse where I ate one of the best steaks I ever had. There was also great nightly entertainment . The entire staff was fantastic ! There was always someone to help you with anything needed. We felt really safe at this resort with all the security walking around .If you are looking for a fun yet ver"
