"Do not let the exterior fool you. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are relatively spacious compared to other European hotel rooms, you have a private bath, there's no a/c but the windows open and there's a fan. The breakfast buffet was minimalist, but there is a communal kitchen to which you have access 24/7. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is located a block from a grocery store and less than a mile from Gamla Stan. The hostess is incredibly friendly. I cannot say enough good things...

Breakfast was fantastic and they didn't rush anyone which we see in many other Swedish hotel breakfasts. Some may not like the tiny wee showers. Next time we'll book a hot tub! So close to centrum and the castle. "

"Nice and cosy very central in Kalmar. The room was spacious although we could hear the neighbors snore. The location is perfect, it's even easy to find parking although you haven't paid for it beforehand. There are some really cheap 24h parkings nearby"

"We had a very spacious comfortable room. The bath robes were quite nice as were the towels and the sheets. The bathroom was remodeled and it was very spacious. Could’ve used more shelves for toiletries, but that is often in the case in older European hotels. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very good."
