Evening meal was well presented with lovely fresh local products. The menu and choices were very varied. ( Maybe not too much choice if you dont eat red meat. ) The dining room is well set out and in the summer months would be lovely to be able to sit outside ( we visited January 2026 ) The breakfast menu was equally charming and a difficult decision...

"Great overnight spa break. Visited last year and after spotting a great deal booked again. Did the sunrise spa which although means an early start is the cheapest option and the least busy. We have done the twilight spa before and highly recommend both. Very comfortable bed and nice furnishings. Good shower. Great breakfast with quality sausages!!! Has an excellent selection. All the staff are friendly and will go the extra mile to help. "

Only 2 negative points are signage, went to the pool, on the way changed in the first changing room, then go downstairs to the pool area to find another wet changing room, could have saved a wet me traipsing across the carpet, and the lift, there's a ground floor, lift has...

"Lovely bedroom and bathroom. We were very warm and comfortable. Would suggest install a small handrail when going up the two steps into the bathroom would be a great help for the less able bodied. Really enjoyed being there and hope to return. "

"We had a lovely stay at The Rutland Arms Hotel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Bakewell and ideal for exploring the town and surrounding Peak District. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and healthy ingredients.
