"The first thing we noticed about room 106 was that the door didn't close well; it was missing the strike plate. Even with the deadbolt latched, we worried that someone could push the door in. The toilet ran the whole time we were there. There were things in the closet (tampon), no grab rails in the shower, and the bottom of the shower was slippery. The water in the shower pulsed while taking a shower, not sure if this was because someone else was using the water elsewhere on the property. The bathroom sink had a very slow drain...maybe clogged? The heater was very loud. There were lines on the TV like the screen was getting ready to die. Overall, the room was very tired. Not sure if the whole facility was like this or only this room, because we had a pet. If this is what you call a pet-friendly room, then the extra charge for the room is overpriced. I would never stay here again. If all the rooms are like this, then it's time for an upgrade. The rooms were very pricey. We only stayed here due to the proximity to our travel plans."

"I’m sure this was a great Hampton Inn at one point in time. The suite was huge but you could tell that the bathroom needs a renovation really badly. Not the cleanest carpets. The beds were very comfortable and clean. I tried using the iron and it was sticky. Thank goodness I tried ironing something else first or it would’ve ruined my dress. Same thing with the ironing board- the lock for the legs were broken so I had to place it on the desk and improvise. The kitchenette sink was gross. Breakfast area was also not clean. You could tell that it wasn’t maintained well. It was just okay. Breakfast was typical. Nothing to write home about. The best part was that I slept well there despite the misgivings. Maybe because I was so tired after 12-14 hours on my feet."

"This was a delightful stay! You can tell the owners put a lot of love into their cottages. And their fire pit is amazing! We spent six weeks driving up the coast from Savannah to the Jersey Shore, and our stop in Cape Charles was made truly memorable by the charm of the Tiny Living experience. "
