"A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. "Superb location and venue. Delightful pub with top cask ale and the food was sublime. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff were highly friendly and attentive. The only negative was the electric shower which was very temperamental and low pressure. A real treat though overall."

Bed and pillows a little too firm for my liking, and was woken at 1 am by a very noisy group of women thumping and talking loudly down the corridor - not comfortable enough to go back k to sleep again, but the noise was not the fault of the hotel. Generally a good place to stay, nice food and a decent breakfast."

"This tiny Inn is definitely worth a visit! The new owners were very friendly and welcoming and the room was comfortable and very clean. The history of the building meant that the bar is tiny, but very welcoming - we spent a great evening drinking and chatting with locals. No food available on the first night, but the owners were happy to recommend and book somewhere for us to eat. Their kitchen was open the second night and the quality was excellent. "Easily the best accommodation of a four-day stay in Northumberland. Everything in the Whittling House makes your trip a little bit better, from lovely staff to beautiful decor, homemade shortbread for the rooms to the comfy armchairs in the bar. Definitely worth the more premium price!"
