"Great hotel in a perfect location overlooking the river. I had a comfortable stay - the room and especially the bathroom were very small (I struggled to close the bathroom door without squeezing behind it) The breakfast was very nice and made to order with quality ingredients. Check in was good but the reception staff should inform guests that the key ring for the hotel room also acts as a fob for the hotel gates. "Beautiful old English manor dating back to the 1500's. Huge manicured grounds surround the building. We were only there for one night. There is a Michelin star restaurant on property. But we just had a light dinner and drinks in the bar. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and well stocked. Be aware that a big part of the charm is because it's an older building so I dont know if it had an elevator. We were on the second floor (third level) and it wasn't a problem walking up to our room."

"Absolutely superb in every way; about 4th time we have stayed in 6-7 years, though several upgrades/refurbished areas apparent this visit. Lovely in every way and service excellent. The breakfast display and variety is even better, and the room/bed SO comfortable.
