"One night stay in this historic house now being used as a hotel located a short walking distance from Hawick centre set in an attractive garden with a wonderful park nearby. Lovely interior with large attractive lounge, entrance hallway and staircase. Large bedroom and en suite bathroom. The Large king-size bed was firm and therefore not that comfortable. Breakfast was a standard traditional option with cereal and juices. Not much interaction with staff except at check in and ordering breakfast....

Only 1 bed was made up and room was clean but very dated, and the property and grounds have seen better days and are overall quite scruffy. "Great property, clean, excellent master bedroom, well equiped, brilliant location and in a peaceful spot, however the hot tub stopped working / went to standby mode and couldnt be used so felt like the one main reason we booked this property and couldnt use it. The stairs are very steep and were difficult to go up and down. Ideal for kielder and surrounding areas. "

"Rooms are very sparse (one chair only in a double room, no suitcase stand, no drawers) but clean however, the exterior is not maintained and presents a very poor impression with large potholes in the car park, unkemptand overgrown bushes, rotten door frames, excessive weeds where there used to be flower beds and smokers trash at the entrance. Additional £5 per night parking fee! Probably one of the worst appearance Days Inn we have seen worldwide."

"I stayed here one night on my way down to the Lake District. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent as was service. (I particularly appreciated that they had gluten free bread available in the morning.) The room was very clean and charming with french doors opening to a private deck. There was a kettle, but a small fridge would have been nice. There was ample parking close to the door. Hosts were very friendly and easy to chat with. "Really friendly staff at reception, very helpful and easy to deal with. Clean room, comfy bed, nice and quiet at night. Restaurant has lovely meals, and the breakfast was fabulous with lots of options."

"There was a large party downstairs (floor below) on the Saturday night we stayed there. Music from DJ was very loud and pounding/felt in our room until after midnight preventing sleep. The Restaurant was unavailable due to the party. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room on this property when the downstairs facilities are booked in this way."

"After a long journey we were so pleased to stay at this B&B, we received a warm welcome, the building is beautiful with lovely views and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only but very well thought out and the communal areas are a special bonus. Would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you."
