Decent pub inn offering clean accommodation and good food (odd breakfast menu ordering scheme though!). Slight problem at check in when it seemed that they didn't have our booking.... but it was their awkward system and all ok in the end.
The waiting staff were a credit to the business... run off their feet but still friendly and good humoured.
Definitely recommend.
Bit of a hidden gem this time of year. Great food options for both breakfast and dinner. Beautiful location and great staff. Accommodation is simple but more tham adequate.
It was a first for us to stay in a country inn that is also dog friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful and the people who work there are lovely. The property is clean and the bedroom we stayed in is a decent size. The food is delicious and hearty. We will definitely be visiting again.
I wanted a quiet place away from towns and citys this Inn was just what i required base camp to explore the local areas staff very friendly food excellent definitely would stay again i had my car for transport i wouldn't recommend this lovely Inn without you having some mode of transport no local shop either so get your supplies before staying overš
Comfortable, clean room has kettle, hairdryer, tv, lamps etc .Nice bathroom with shower.
Only stayed one night and went out to see daughter so didn't have any food but it looked good!!! Staff very nice and friendly.
Very friendly and great food. Beer good and single malt excellent. Shame I didnāt have time to sample the breakfast. Will certainly call back again. Thank you
The Horse and Hound is located in a quiet area of the borderlands, yet has access to a good road net hat puts you in the center of many great places to visit. The place is quaint and comfortable, with the dining area being bright and cheerful, and the pub (the oldest part of the building) and is the village place to go (the locals are very friendly). The staff are cheerful and helpful, and the food is very good. The rooms are a decent size, with on suite bathrooms, and the beds are comfortable. We loved it.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room was nice and the amenities fine, but it wasn't exactly the warmest of welcomes when we checked in -- and then we didn't get to properly check out because the whole hotel was locked up, and the owners had departed, so we had to unlock the outside door to get in and drop the key in a key box!
Warm welcome upon arrival, room was clean, spacious and beds comfortable. Was a little too hot & couldn't find way to turn down radiators, but opened the window solved that.
We didn't eat in the restaurant, but had a drink and the food looked very tasty.
