"First of all, because our Flight was canceled by Southwest Airlines we were a day late checking in, I called the hotel explaining we would be late through no fault by us. When we checked in to the hotel we were told that because we booked through Expedia that they did not hold the room we booked for andvprepaid for. So instead of King bed we were given two QUEEN BEDS. BOTH HAD OLD HARD MATRESSES. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. VERY DISAPPOINTED! "

"The front desk staff was rude and the room was very dirty. Be aware if you end up with a non renovated room, the furniture is dusty and the desk hasn’t been wiped down, the carpet is old and the couch smells like pee. The staff is hit and miss, mostly miss. The property itself is very nice but the ocean tower is very far. "

"We loved staying here for the convenient location near U Hawaii Hilo and all the Hilo sites. It’s a great walk around Banyan Dr and the park in the morning. And there is plenty of shade for pool time later in the day once beach time is done. It’s only 7 min drive to the main shopping and dining in Hilo. Great location, clean rooms, and helpful staff!"

"The staff were excellent and very nice. The property is very convenient location wise, but also small. The pool was decent, but the storm didn’t allow for much swimming. Morning poolside yoga was a nice activity and basic amenities were available. They brought a microphone my room which was very accommodating and local food is delicious speaking to the convenience of the area. "

"The staff was concerned with us getting there before 8pm. We hurried to get there and did not stop for dinner. We arrived to check in at 5pm and the staff seemed eager to show us our rental and get out of there (we were the last and maybe only ones to check in that day). There was a living room but there were beds in it. The shower was challenging to figure out how to use. It had two handles (neither were marked) which seemed to produce cold water no matter how I turned the handles! On the...

"This is a very nice lodge with a great history. The room was spacious and we really enjoyed the hot tub and the nature trail. My only complaint is with the people in the room beneath us as we heard them talking well past the quiet hour of 10:00 pm. As the inn has no night manager, I was required to deal with it myself by talking to them directly. Not sure if the insulation between the rooms is adequate. We did hear other neighbors as well but they respected the quiet hours. "

"The grounds are always kept in prime condition. The access to a good snorkel beach and a near by pool is one main reason for coming here. The staff were all great and helpful. The food service and quality were great at each location. Breakfast was excellent. Of course $40 a night for self-parking and another $40 for Resort fees is a killer as it is just pure profit add on to the room rate."

"Everything was fantastic! The only odd thing is that there wasn’t a headboard on the bed. The staff was very kind! If you look at the window latch on the courtyard side of the room, it might say “made in occupied Japan” on the knob, which if you know your history, it should give you a solid idea on the age of the hotel. But the place is in great shape, seems freshly remodeled, and really is quite a treasure. The song of the night birds is mesmerizing! One word of caution for late arrivals...
