Absolutely enjoyed 10 days on this historic property! The property is adjacent to the fortress and the hotel is a converted Soldiers barracks. A sense of tranquility and peacefulness surrounds you when you walk around the property. The property is well maintained and oversees the city of Halden. The staff made my family feel like home. The staff were professional and kind; they made us feel welcomed. The staff checked on our family when we were off the property for over 24 hours to ensure we were ok and safe. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious with an array of local, organic, cold and hot items. The dining area is clean and have the best lasagna on their dinner menu. We plan to return to Norway and plan to return to the Fredriksten!

Vi hade et väldigt fint familjerum med fin havsutsikt. Det enda som vi saknade var läslampor vid sängarna- det var bara lampor i taket. Speciellt i det extra rummet, där det var bra taklampa men tyvärr ingen bordlampa. Allt i övrigt väldigt bra hotellupplevelse.

Dårlig og treig service. Nesten fraværende resepsjonist på kveld/natt. Skittent rom med skittent sengetøy. Hard seng. Bråk utenfor rom og ute på hotellets felles arealet til tross for beliggenhet. Vi valgte hotellet for å oppleve ro og nærhet til natur. Frokosten var ikke spesielt innbydende med mugg på maten og dårlig frukt. Var redd for matforgiftning. Dette hotellet er ikke verdt prisen. Meget skuffet.
