"The host was very friendly, and shared some great tips for visiting the Hilo area. Check-in/out instructions were helpful and easy to follow. The building itself is a little tired and could use some updating/cleaning. The unit was well equipped and cozy. The beds were not particularly comfortable and overall I would rate the accomodations as 4 star"

"This property was beautiful, quiet and the staff is amazing. Its a little drive to Hilo but worth it. So much to see and do in the area. They also have a book in the room that is a wealth of information about the area. It is available to buy and we advise to get a copy. We highly recommend cottages to anyone traveling to the area. "

"Nice hotel in a run down area. Banyan drive used to be nice. There are at least two abandoned hotels next door. There are A LOT of homeless in Hilo now (just like Oahu where I live). The hotel was renovated but still had some minor cosmetic issues- curtains, etc. Beautiful view, could see the cruise ships. We absolutely loved the new lounge area. Nice drink and pupu selections. We were given two drink tickets per night to use at the lounge with live music and a dancer. Valet parking only...
