As a family traveling with a 7 year old were surprised to learn upon arrival that the pool was only available from 8am-11am for our child, The concierge wasn’t very helpful or offered any insights for our stay in Porto. "Room was clean and cared for each day. Staff was prompt and helpful. Huge breakfast buffet. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool and hot tub. Wasn’t in favor of hair cap. Housekeeping did not fully stick some things—I.e. coffee for each of us. All in all, decent location but not close to old town!"

"Cons 1. Hairdryer was jammed when we checked in & the head had to be replaced as it was inoperable due to hair jammed into the head of the hairdryer. 2. The website says air-conditioned rooms but staff informed they are air cooled.The first night was very sweaty & uncomfortable to get sleep. Staff asked us to open the window for ventilation.This wasn't an option as this overlooks a highway & lot of traffic noise. 3. "This is a beautiful hotel, with a good location. The downfall is the extras needed when booking. I recommend booking through the actual Marriott app. For Expedia, I didn’t understand all the extra things like breakfast/ spa. We didn’t know breakfast wasn’t covered until the last day when they gave us the bill and we realized we had to paid the previous two times( if we knew we wouldn’t have ate there for breakfast at all). The spa is extra but the hot tub was broken. Again beautiful hotel but...

"The difference is that you are comparing Europe to the USA, and they are just different. I think the location is pretty good, and the balcony (although really small) is really nice. For the price, I think it's a pretty good deal, but...I don't know what the price is now..."

"Great location and easy to get to main attractions. Clean room, decent size, comfortable bed, but was a street level room so could be a bit noisy at times. Staff were really helpful. A few things to improve on - we asked for slippers and bathrobe and were told these were in the room but weren’t (these were brought to us quickly though), the steps to the pool were unstable so we didn’t use it and we weren’t told we had to ask to use the sauna an hour in advance so didn’t use that either.
