Supplies by rail for Star Lane brickworks Five skips of brickearth are propelled towards the works from the stockpiles. Actual digging of clay seemed to have finished at this date, but there were enormous stockpiles some distance from the works. Five skips were standard here, but at the same company's Cherry Orchard Lane works three was usual, despite both lines being practically level and with similar locomotives.

"Lovely convenient location. Very clean and freshly renovated. Staff very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return. We were given an upgrade to a deluxe seaview room which was very well equipped and comfortable. Car parking might be a problem as it is limited and the suites and high grade rooms get a space reserved. They kindly saved us a space as we needed disabled access. The breakfast was very good and freshk6cooked. We hope to stay again."
