13th century castle just outside of Amsterdam

Once the home of the duck hunter, now used to explain how the nearby duck decoy once worked - the English word originates from the Dutch word “eendenkooi”.

Still has a few ducks left, the lucky kind. The decoy is now in the middle of nature reserve Naardermeer.

Would stay here again and again. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was spotless and the layout of the room felt very modern. Also a great location, around 10-15 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal from Spaklerweg on the metro which is less than a 5 minute walk away.
