It is an old property but it was clean. We just wished they provided us with sleepers as the want us to remove our shoes at the entrance and the carpet has stain that made us uncomfortable walking barefoot.
This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be in close proximity to Mt Fuji station for your travel plans. It is a basic, no frills motel-style accommodation. While somewhat dated, everything was clean, check-in was streamlined, and breakfast/coffee were provided. It is walking distance to the station which is great. For a one night stay in transit, the lodge was perfect.
After staying in a compact hotel room in Kyoto, the lodge gave me the sense of normalcy: spacious room with similar settings in the US. The only thing missing was a tea kettle. You could easily walk to the reception room for coffee and hot water though.
One other thing was the transportation. Google Map gave me a route from Mishima with one transfer to a local bus that made every stop along the way. However, your best choice is to take the express bus from Mishima to Kawaguchiko, and then take the train back to Mt Fuji station (only two stops), which is less than five minutes walk to the lodge.
What I liked the most was the quietness: there wasn’t a single sound in the night, making me wonder if I was the only one staying in the lodge.
This property is very clean and new. It’s located few minutes from bus and train station. Their rooms have lots of modern design like separate washroom and shower and so on.
