"Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate. Location is two minutes away from Railway station so very good for transport links. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, polite and attentive. I feel the photos on website don't accurately reflect the layout of the complex. Definitely not for me and I won't be going back."

"Check in was straight forward, and we were shown to our room. Room was clean and ready for us. After showering and getting changed , we went to the bar for a beer. Good choice of beers , and the bar staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our food there too. Breakfast was lovely , and we left feeling refreshed and well fed. We were walking the Sandstone Trail , so it was an ideal stop over for us. Highly recommended "

"We were asked on the first night not to eat in the restaurant as they had two bus trips and it would be noisy and service would be slow. We struggled to get a seat in the bar area, eventually getting a seat at a low table, not ideal for eating at. Service at the bar was very slow, I got my meal eventually, my friend had to ask where his was and was served eventually. Second night was not much better, we did insist on eating in the restaurant and it was a bit more civilised. The bar was very busy and the staff really struggling."

"Absolutely awful. I spent 30 minutes in the room before deciding to book a travelodge down the road and left as soon as possible. I’m not a fussy person and can sleep anywhere but this has to be the worst place I’ve stayed, (attempted to stay). The smell was awful. The carpets were disgusting and sticky. Bathroom full of mould and rust. Stains on walls. Pictures on the walls ripped. Genuinely felt the room was a health hazard which is why I decided to leave. The only good thing I can say is the receptionist kindly waited for me to arrive as I didn’t get there until late. Need to contact someone to discuss a refund. Pictures on hotels.com are faked and nothing like the reality. Even the picture of the outside of the hotel is faked. Happy guests lodge? I’m sorry but that should NOT be the name. Please please avoid. Save yourself the trouble and spend a tiny bit more for guaranteed cleanliness and comfort. "
