"Staff were very welcoming when I arrived. My room was on the second floor with a nice window looking out over the loch. The room itself was comfortable and warm once I'd figured out how to work the electric heater and the bed was comfortable. In-room facilities were good, with a kettle, a plentiful supply of instant coffee, hot-chocolate and teas and two packs of biscuits. In the bathroom, there were sealed tubes of body wash and shampoo which were a good touch. Overall, the bedroom was clean and tidy. However in the bathroom there was a lot of black mould around the bottom of the shower doors and some in the shower grouting which I think could have been cleaned up better if someone had spent time on it. Breakfast was pretty decent, with a choice of yoghurts, fruit, some non-dairy milks and a few cereals. I went for the cooked breakfast which, even though it was served very quickly, had fried eggs with nice runny yolks. The bacon egg and beans were good, but the sausage wasn't particularly good quality. It would also have been nice to have some kind of breakfast potato option like hash-browns to go with the rest of it (this was not on the menu). Toast was self-service and there were "pastries" under a heat lamp, which sadly were very poor. My small croissant was hard and a bit dry, and seemed to be more bread-like than pastry. Avoid! Overall, for Fort William, this hotel is quite a reasonable price for what you get but it really needs bringing into the 2020's."
