We had a balcony directly facing the beach. It was gorgeous and the hotel was lovely, but they are still having some construction so we were woken up by the sound of a drill at 8 am.

Hilton Garden Inn Ft Myers
We were there for a week and all was great. Most days we ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant, sat out by the fire at night, did laundry in the clean laundry room and used the printer to print our boarding passes to fly home.

Would not recommend. For the positive, we did have good customer service when I had to challenge the bill because the previous guest's bar bill was put on our room. Also, the view was nice, looking at the harbor. Noise from the bridge is loud when on the balcony but you cannot hear it when the door ...
