"So impressed with our superior room, with terrace and a lovely hot tub! Such good value for money. The room was so spacious and perfect for a 2 night stay. Great walks very close and Fordingbridge is lovely for a wander. The Three Lions pub was so nice, the food was great on both nights, really friendly and polite staff. We are planning on returning for our anniversary weekend next year."

"I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over."

"Honestly this was the MOST perfect stay for a new forest adventure. i cannot tell you how special this place is you just need to go an experience it for yourself. Special shout out to ALL the staff, they were just as perfect as the room was. thank you thank you thank you. it was a dream."

"the room was very comfortable had everything you could ever need. Jan and mark welcomed us into their home for breakfast every day very patient as we were late risers. They went way beyond normal hospitality drove us to the beginning of the water meadow walk in Salisbury and wrote out the. route for a drive through the new forest. We were staying for 5 nights wished it was longer as we were made to feel at home immediately on arrival. If only all holiday owners were like them. There was a bus...

"Fantastic one might stay for a wedding. Huge room and bathroom, tea and coffee and Tv in the room. Super clean and friendly owner. Excellent breakfast all freshly cooked along with cereals and fruit. Parking on site and easy walking to the town. Will definitely go back."

"Hilary and Mark, mother and son were both very pleasant and helpful. Some good suggestions about different places to visit in the area."

"Virkelig hyggeligt sted med en fantastisk dejlig have. Værelset var rent og pænt"

"Glad I chose this hotel and it's shuttle to visit Stonehenge."

"Comfortable room in a lovely pub. Helpful, friendly staff. Great atmosphere in the pub and delicious food."

"We used this location to visit Stonehenge as well as the Old Harry Rocks/Dorset Coast in general. It was also convenient and easy to sneak a day trip into Bath from this spot. It was perfect for our longer days, coming back to a clean apartment with all the amenities to cook our own meals. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. On site parking is available for £5 per day or if you arrive by train it’s a mere 100 meters to the station. If you arrive by train, the location...

"Super stay! We come back every few months!"

"Unfortunately, our high hopes were dashed. The pot of tea and cake on arrival in a side room was a bit weird. Our room, which was the most expensive of our 3-week trip was painfully small and uncomfortable The bed was too soft. This property may be loved by others due to its history and charm, but it wasn’t what we’d hoped it would be."

"The hotel was further from Lyndhurst than I expected and although that wasn't an issue, it was further than I anticipated. This for us was the only downside to the stay. The room was cosy and comfortable and somewhat quirky. We loved its uniqueness. The hotel restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner there on our overnight stay. We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton."

"Lovely pub/restaurant with rooms in a picturesque small village. We had a great dinner and the service throughout our stay was fantastic (thank you Matthew). I wasn’t aware this was part of a chain at the time of booking but I shall be looking out for Butcombe Pubs in future."
