"We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. "We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable."

"This is the best stay I have had away from home. The host was so welcoming, it was like visiting a close friend. Well taken care of. I was in Shrewbury for a Triathlon, and had to be taken to hospital. The host took in my bike from UK Triathlon who delivered it to help me. Breakfast was brililant. And the room was MASSIVE. "Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole"

"Had a great stay here, it had everything from great food , friendly staff and a well equipped gym and pool. To top it off for us, it’s dog friendly too! All the staff were super helpful and attentive to our needs, from reception to bar and gym staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome, even the gym members. This will be a regular stop off for us whilst visiting my daughter in Liverpool. All I can say is Thank you . Lisa, Lee and Finley x"
