Despite booking 5 months in advance of the trip the owner did not communicate any information regarding the booking.
The "reception" is unmanned despite the advert saying it is manned between 5pm and 11pm. I tried to contact the owner on the number provided and got sent to an answer phone. Great. The messaging service on Hotels.com also yielded no results.
The very helpful bar staff over the road phoned the owner for me, where I found out they had forgotten my reservation.
We were allocated an apartment, which was a nice space. But the bed had stains in it and looked like the linen had not been changed between guests. There were some questionable fluids in one of the beds.
Had the bar staff not been there to help we would have driven 9 hours across France to sleep in the car with our kids before heading on to Le Shuttle in the morning.
For some reason overnight in the apparent a pump would turn on at random intervals and wake everyone up. We had no idea where it was coming from and couldn't turn it off.
The shower was clean, so was the floor and kitchen area.
Overall a very underwhelming and frustrating experience.
I don't know if this is an issue with Hotels.com or with the owner but it clearly needs looking into. I would avoid if you are looking for a hassle free experience.
