8/10
It is a beautiful hotel, but is expensive for what you receive. I would expect more from a 5* hotel, it feels like a 4*.
The hotel itself is stunning, it smells amazing and the spa is lovely. It does get full and busy around the pool area, which is quite small for the number of rooms. The room was small and very dark. We paid extra for a room with private hot tub (€350 extra for 2 nights only - totalling €950 for a 2 night stay) but this was ground level next to a road with noise, it was very very dark with no sun on the patio or hot tub all day long. The fence dividing rooms was not great and couldn’t through into the patio next door. The hot tubs also back to back, so should both rooms have used at the same time would effectively be sitting next to each other and unable to have private conversations. This should have been advertised as would have preferred to pick a basic room on a higher level and saved the extra money if we had known. It definitely was not worth the price, and would have got more for your money at a different hotel with better rooms, bettwr facilities and a better location.
The location isn’t great, there is not anything around for quite some walk and no beach as advertised, it’s a little shingle section on the harbour which you would not want to sunbathe or swim in.
The food was lovely, breakfast was simple and offered freshly cooked options from a menu. Drinks and food expensive for what you got.
Plenty of free parking nearby.
