"I did not find the Atheneum to be very well maintained nor clean. Our room was pretty ick to be honest; hairs on the bathroom walls, dust and gunk on all the tile ledges etc. The room decor is quite baffling…. Tons of random ledges, glass bricks, massive pillars. The couch was stained and the room smelled like stale cigarettes. But the staff were very friendly and helpful!"

"This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Detroit. I always enjoy my stay because the staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. My only minor complaint is that housekeeping could be a bit more thorough with wiping down surfaces at times. Overall, it’s a great hotel, and I would definitely stay here again."
