"My wife and I loved this place. It was very charming and the staff were great. The food was excellent as we had dinner and breakfast. We had the small plates for dinner because the restaurant was booked full but our small plate dishes were excellent. Quite frankly I would have the small plates for dinner rather than a full dinner. I would definitely go back to this place and recommend to friends traveling to Scotland"

"The property was beautiful but a little of town. Very limited taxi/cabs available therefore one has to ensure that they are organized and pre-book transportation. The staff was extremely accommodating and very polite and helpful"

"We were there 6 nights & it is by far the BEST guest house we’ve ever experienced. The house is the perfect mix of being historic but also updated, so it feels fresh. Loved the high pressure insta hot water & super comfy bed. Great location for walking to dinner each night. And it was the perfect home base for day trips to Dunnottar Castle, Balmoral, Blair Castle & Glamis Castle for the Highland Games. The gardens and view from the house are gorgeous. "Cheap attic room. Unfortunately TV in neighbouring room boomed all night . We phoned the assistance number and the parson who answered said she would sort it out (she was off site). Nothing was done all night . We and other guests tried to get someone in room to respond by banging loudly at 4am. We assumed either dead or heavily intoxicated . We asked staff in morning and they said no one was in that room and cleaner must have left TV on. All pretty crap, no sleep and no apology . Sad that a...

"The breakfast was full Scottish with cereal loads of tea and coffee and different juices set you up for the day , room was clean with a hairdryer, tea & coffee and TV. Staff were friendly."

"This was the best hotel experience I’ve had in Scotland. Staff were so welcoming and helpful, rooms and common areas so beautifully designed, and is walking distance to the downtown. A plus was the gorgeous garden to hang out and have a glass of wine. We’ll definitely be back."

"I had a one night stay and needed basic accommodation, this sufficed. If staying be aware, I hadnt realised check in is before 7pm unless you advise (it was on the literature I just hadn't read it). My only hesitation to stay again is all the locks are electronically operated, and no one is on site. To feel safer as a lone traveller I would prefer to have a chain, or internal lock to the door in addition, in case the electrics failed at night and my room door would effectively be open."
