"This is a lovely old fashioned-feeling, quirky hotel with a great atmosphere. It is in a great location in the heart of Totnes.
Our room was spacious and comfortable.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and all our meals were tasty with decent portions.
The staff members, without exception, were cheerful, helpful and welcoming.
Parking is tight with there being only a small car park so other parking options may need to be considered before arrival."
"stayed a few times before and will be our go to in the future, Great location, friendly staff, Just wish guest were more considerate when closing their doors, there's no need to just lets them bang shut!!!"
"We were a little disappointed with our stay and are surprised by the number of positive comments.
While our room itself was clean enough, the rest of the property would benefit from a serious deep clean. The carpets on the stairs were heavily ingrained with dirt. We were also surprised to find that the dining area was carpeted, which seems an unusual and impractical choice for a breakfast room. The carpet was very dirty and had a musty smell, and there were crumbs scattered around when we came...
"One of the best properties we’ve stayed in! We had a great time - the rooms are stunning, there is so much to do around the property and yet, it was peaceful and intimate at the same time. Highly recommend having all your meals there - the food and staff were a big highlight of our stay. We will definitely be back!"
"The room was utilitarian, at best, and cold. Staff were unable to get the heat turned on. After 2 days of requests a space heater was finally provided."
