The place was a little run down. The pool and gym were closed for maintenance. The restaurant was closed because of staffing problems.
On the plus side the beds were comfortable.

The property is definitely dated, but v clean. Needed a place to stay for a local race which required 3 nights accommodation. Price was right, and then I was also informed at check in that bc the pool wasn’t open, I would be receiving an additional discount. Nice!
Staff were wonderful, and provided me a lot of detail about what amenities were on site, AND the restaurant was open until 10pm which was great!
Bed was comfy, loved having a balcony overlooking the little pond in front of the property. Parking and room access was easy, and room was well-equipped with a fridge and toiletries. Also the softest towels I’ve ever experienced at a hotel!
Would love to come back in the summer with my kiddo to explore the area and facilities further.
We had a nice time here and we would come back. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The restaurant had great food at reasonable prices.
Rooms need a complete overhaul. Carpets are stained, AC loud and ineffective, toilet issues. Welcoming staff and nice grounds but can’t offset the state of the hotel and rooms.
We booked a group of 6 people on a weekend trip to Haliburton. When we got to the resort, we were told the restaurant wasn't available that evening since there was an event booked. Very disappointed after a long day of travel. The hotel is pretty run down throughout. It was a quiet place to sleep at least.
Pool and gym was closed for repairs
Room was dated torn and dirty wallpape
Smelled of stale smoke
Needed painting
Staff were great
The restaurants bar great
Not happy with the venue

Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent! We appreciated the friendly, efficient service. Also, the price. The front desk staff were helpful and pleasant. The property as a whole is in need of upgrades (ie carpets) and refurbishing.

Pleasant Stay
We stayed in a villa with a nice view of the golf course. The resort overall is dated and in need of a reno. However, our room was spacious with a large bedroom of 2 comfortable queen beds, a full bath with jacuzzi tub, a kitchenette with microwave and bar fridge, and a sunken livingroom with gas fireplace and separate diningroom. Lots of windows with natural light. We had problems lighting the gas fireplace but the maintenance came promptly and got it working. The ceiling fan was too noisy to have on all the time, but did move the air.
Unfortunately, the pool and fitness room were closed for maintenance while we were there, so I cannot comment on them.
The Stone 21 restaurant does not serve breakfast so we went to nearby Haliburton.
We did eat dinner at the Stone 21 and the food was very good! Prices were reasonable for a resort.
We didn't use the golf course, but many people did!
It was a pleasant stay but I think it will be a while before we are back.

Staff was excellent. Hotel was located conveniently for our needs. Restaurant was comfortable w/good service.
Unfortunately both indoor & outdoor pools were not open. Outdated, worn carpet in hallways & rooms. The place looks like it could use some attention.
the amenities offered were closed with no advanced notice, hotel was rundown, filthy, carpets throughout and in the room (was rippled) & restaurant were filthy , receptionist has torn jeans, Restaurant - carpets were not cleaned in weeks. Windows were dirty. Service & food in the restaurant was acceptable.
The staffs are so rude and unfriendly and unprofessional! They even didn’t know when the restaurant will open. We had to go out and have our dinner at The Dockside Patio as the Stone 21 restaurant of Pinestone resort was closed. No body should visit this place. Worst place for a getaway! Don’t recommend at all!
Go to Bonnie View Inn and have food at The Dockside Patio. Very friendly and professional staffs and amazing view.
This is a very, very dated property. Nothing has been renovated in at least 30 years. The "air conditioning" in the room barely worked. On a hot August weekend it was very difficult to sleep in such a hot room. The room and hallway smelled like mould.
The restaurant and front desk staff were nice however.

beautiful golf coarse and lovely scenery. The carpet that is on the main stairs from the lobby to the dining/bar was so full of dirt that I felt I was walking on concrete. The down stair carpet still had some deflection left but not much. Brass kick plates, nice, but water tarnished 2" -3 " of al the kicks. Ugly. Carpets in the hallways were well worn and have loose areas that were bubbled away from the floor. In my room neither the air conditioner nor the heater were working. Coldest day of the summer, thus far. You get the picture. STAFF were sensational.
This hotel needs a lot of fixing up. The whole hotel smells like dampness, most notable in the bedrooms. The carpets were bunched in many areas of the halls making tripping hazards. The dance floor of the hall had slightly lifted boards creating more tripping hazards even in flats. The air conditioner of our first room didn't work properly so we had to be moved to a different room sincw the room would nog go below 28C and our sliding door had no screen, so we couldnt get any airflow. The air conditioner worked in the new room but is SUPER loud. The key cards constantly deactivated if put anywhere near your phone, which is very inconvenient since both had to go in my purse and could only be separated so much. The staff were friendly and accommodating though, and the grounds are very beautiful.
