The members of staff were very friendly and equally helpful when we asked for advice. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom not only had a bath, but also a great shower. The breakfast was great. I would definitely return to this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others visiting Dunkirk.

Best Western Hotel du Lac Dunkerque.

Located by a beautiful lake it's the perfect place to stay especially if you're enroute bact to the UK via Calais. All the staff are warm and friendly, food is exceptional. They have a lovely outside dining area - perfect for alfresco eating !

The staff and the hotel itself were excellent. Breakfast was amazingly delicious, as was the dinner. Walking outside at the lake was very relaxing. A short drive into anywhere you want to go in Dunkirk was very easy

Don’t let the appearance put you off!

Although the hotel’s exterior looks a little grim, inside is a different story with very friendly staff, pleasant refurbished rooms and excellent food. A patio with a lake view on a warm evening is an added bonus. Easy to find and ideal as a stopover either before or after a ferry it’s excellent value and recommended!

We had a lovely room with a nice view of the lake out back. Breakfast was good. The service was excellent. The only problem was that our toilet was running. Easy fix and an excellent stay.

I arrived late but the staff were very helpful. There’s a nice park beside the hotel which was great for walking the dog. The overnight charging for the car worked perfectly as well

Nice hotel but needs better soundproofing

A nice hotel in a quiet location just off the main road, rooms were nice and staff very friendly and spoke good English, however there is no soundproofing from the army accommodation upstairs and we were kept awake till after midnight.

Launching into Belgium

Great stay - very welcoming. Beds were narrower than we expected & we were in a disabled bedroom. Bathroom was large, but no shower curtain meant the floor got soaked! However the staff were attentive, welcoming & overall it worked well as a place to stay to launch us on our Belgium adventure:)

We had a good stay, however the pillows were tiny ok for a child. There was only 1 sugar for two people. The tiles in the bathroom under the sink were all smashed dangerous if you had children. The breakfast was very good.

Our stay

Pleasant hotel with lovely view of the lake. A bit noisy due to near a main road. The restaurant was good served nice food. Staff were helpful and spoke some English. Room was clean, only downside was there were only one pillow and when we asked for more they could only find one extra which was poor.

I stayed here with my teenage sons, the hotel was easy to reach by car and there was parking on site. The hotel was quiet and safe, staff were very pleasant and customer focused. Beds were very comfortable, we had a great walk around the lake that was behind the property. Rooms very clean and welcoming. Was easy to reach the War memorial from the hotel. Would stay here again and would recommend it.

Excellent hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent. It is an amazingly quiet place to stop next to a lake and very convenient to catch the ferry back to the U.K.

Staff were friendly. Property was rundown with unkept surroundings. Room was damp and amenities in the room poor. No water pressure in shower and curtains not wide enough to pull. Food not great. Hotel in need of complete refurbishment.
