"Where do I begin?!? Such a beautiful hotel. Location was perfect. The staff (valet, receptionists, waitstaff at the adjoining Salt & Whiskey bar / restaurant) were friendly, welcoming, engaging, exemplary! BTW the drinks and food at Salt & Whiskey were excellent! Such lovely hotel decor. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice amenities. I cannot fathom staying anywhere else on my next visit to downtown San Diego. The Horton Grand Hotel excels in the hospitality industry, hands down!"

"Our whole floor smelt like cigarettes. Our room did too. They did ask if we wanted to be relocated to another room. Location was great."

"The hotel was great and located in a perfect spot if you’re going to the ballpark (3 minute easy walk) or anywhere downtown. The area was fun with lots of restaurants and things to see."

"Hair left in shower; bell desk lost luggage; car valet didn’t listen twice. and did not assist with loading luggage when leaving; snacks store ALL beverages were literally room temp- food items were not labeled so had to get in line to inquire ; house keeping knocked on door for service when do not disturb sign was on door and debated our check out time with us- parking was $75 which I felt should have been disclosed ahead of time"

"Overall good experience but there were some minor inconveniences and amenities that were lacking. After check-in, we went to our room, which had a do not enter sign. Apparently, some of the furniture had been washed and was drying. Front desk handled it and got us into a different room. Again just a minor inconvenience. Secondly the parking is awful. The spots are extremely small and space for turning is very limited. I have a medium size SUV and had the worst time fitting into most of the spots. There were also no EV chargers so if that’s something you’re interested in you won’t find it here . For $40 I expected more from the parking experience. Everything else was fine. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was decent and the location was great. I probably would stay here again, but I’m hesitant with the parking. "
