Our stay at Lledr House Hostel was great. We had everything we needed. Onsite parking was perfect for our family of 6. We didn't use the kitchen and dining room, but those were well equipped with everything that is necessary. It's in a quite rural location, clean and tidy. After a long day out having various adventures on a very hot day, I really enjoyed the double shower which was very clean and a pleasure to use. Would highly recommend and when we return to the area, will look to book it again.
The couple who run it are good people who do their best to keep everything in ship shape. They went out of their way to help me and I was impressed. The old house is not wheelchair accessible - you have to be able to climb stairs. The other guests are often middle-aged and many are quite introverted. Nothing wrong with that but if you're expecting a lively atmosphere or the kind of youth hostel experience from earlier days when people were excited to meet people from other places and enjoy some good humour, well, you might feel a little lonesome here as a solo traveler. That's okay if you're just looking for a pleasant place to eat and sleep. In that case, the Lledar house is a bargain compared to the multiple tourist traps and exclusionary rip-offs nearby.
Lovely place nestled in the Welsh hills. I wasn't sure about it from the pictures but it was lovely. It's one big house with the guests half separate. There's 3 big rooms on one floor then you go up and there's 6 more rooms. We got a cosy double and you get what you pay for but for the price it was excellent!
The showers and kitchen are really nice, there's 2 shower / toilets and a big shared kitchen. Then a big common area.
We booked fo a weekend get away. The facilities were great, and the bed was comfy. Better than I was expecting, as the price for a night was cheaper than other places.
We came to do the caverns at zipworld, perfect location at it was only a 10 minute drive. You do need a car, but that’s not surprising in North Wales.
Would visit again
Nice cheap hostel.
We stayed 4 nights in a small room with 2 bunk beds. Everyone was friendly, the dog was a bit unnerving (frightened and growling) and the Lledr river just over the road was perfect for paddling and playing.
We had to ask twice
Fantastic stay! It was the perfect accommodation for our family of 5. Clean, plenty of bedding, all the essentials in the kitchen, friendly staff. We spent the weekend and it’s very convenient to Zip World too.
Bathrooms were better than some of the hotels I've stayed in and that matters a lot. Rooms themselves were just big enough, common room included a living room with sky TV and a kitchen stocked well with utensils. Common rooms do close at 11, so it's pretty quiet after that. There's a train station and bus-stop within walking distance so you won't always have to take a car to access other parts of the national park which was nice to know as-well.
I was impressed with the facilities. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were warm and the whole place was well kept and clean. It appeared recently decorated.
A great hostel, probably one of the best ive stayed at, couldnt have asked for anything better. Best bathrooms ever, and fab common areas, including gardens and extremely comfortable twin bedroom. Peaceful, and great price!
Very friendly owners and very helpful with everything. Hostel clean and tidy. Very close to most attractions ( with in 30 minutes drive it is loads ti see and do).
We will definitely go back again. Highly recommended
The hosts were the best we have ever met---friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They knew the area and sent us on day trips with excellent advise. We had never stayed in a hostel before so we didn't know what to expect. All I can say was that it was an excellent experience and we were go back to stay with them again and again. We loved it!
It was what we needed it to be, mostly. We stayed in the cabin which was lovely. Right size, stayed warm, enough space for breakfast, WiFi worked fine.
I originally was excited by the "washer/dryer" advertised for the cabin and of course forgot the existence of "washer/dryer combo machines." If you haven't used one, the "dryer" feature is about 30% as effective as using a hairdryer set on the "cold" setting to get things dry. That said, the machine was really a feature and not the main reason we booked it. We also tried contacting the proprietors several times via phone, unsuccessfully, and got chased off the hostel side when we tried to find someone (I think a large group maybe was staying there and was a bit territorial).
Overall, totally pleasant experience. If you're going to do laundry, just give yourself 3 hours per load in the machine plus 12-24 hours to dry (laying damp clothes around the room). Parking was easy, location was convenient, price was right.

Family ownership is very friendly and helpful and the house is very nice. Very nice bathroom fixtures.
Fantastic family run place excellent hosts and great to see the whole family involved in running such a great place. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. I am not all that keen on Shared Bathrooms but I was there for a race and it was an excellent price. The room was excellent and the shared bathroom/shower rooms were excellent. Single showers and the shower room/bathrooms they have are better than have had at many 5 star hotels. Location is nice, lovely places in walking distance and short drives to the best North Wales has to offer. Superb wifi too.
All you’d expect in a hostel, friendly unobtrusive staff in a quiet location.
The Wi-Fi is a bit iffy but considering the mountainous region, that is to be expected. (Let’s face it, you’re meant to be getting away from it all anyway)
