"Overall, a solid place to stay. Room had some odd odors, like smoke. Pool was clean and refreshing. Vending machine didn't work."

"Historical does not equal run down and that’s what we experienced unfortunately. In addition, the popcorn they popped daily made the place smell and someone spilled in the elevator…in the 3 days we spent there it was never picked up by staff. Everything felt like the staff just did not care. However, I will say the beds were comfortable and I slept very well each night, the showers, heating and cooling in the rooms all very comfortable as well."

"Our stay was overall very good, but the breakfast could use an improvement. Many guests have dietary restrictions, such as being vegetarian or eating only halal meat. While we understand the limitations of a complimentary breakfast, it would be highly appreciated if different food items were kept separate. For example, keeping the eggs and pork in completely different trays would make a huge difference for those with dietary restrictions. Thank you"

"The breakfast was decent. They did serve alternative breakfast options like egg white omelette and turkey sausages/patties. Healthier yogurts. The pancake machine was convenient. The exterior of the property was clean, parking was plentiful, and there was a gas station within walking distance. Staff were polite and professional. I would not recommend the neighboring Applebee’s. The restaurant appeared poorly maintained, with sticky floors and tables, vegetables that did not seem fresh, and a...

"This place is very neat. It is walkable to many restaurants. We also walked the nearby BEAUTIFUL campus of Washington and Lee university. It was clean. Staff was great. Stay here!"

"We’ve stayed here 3 times. this time in room 238 and once again the bathroom door would not shut because it needs to be trimmed off at the top - it sticks. The clothes hanger rack was coming out of the wall. The anchors were exposed and hanging. The TV remote was coming apart and had already been held together with duct tape. I had to use my own tape to hold it together to use."

"Shortest stay ever. We checked in and upon smell and seeing the mold in the room and obvious water damage on the bathroom ceiling-we immediately left. This place is nasty."
