"Charming independent hotel. Pet-friendly and (for humans!) a tasty breakfast buffet is included. Our room was small but we had booked the cheaper option and it was only for one night, so it was perfect for us. Parking is free on-site. (Not to be assumed in Europe!) This does not pretend to be a luxury hotel. But it’s clean and tidy and excellent value for money."

"A great value and clean hotel for a quick stopover right in the middle of town. The self check in was easy and clear comms from the staff by email. Great to have a Nespresso machine in the room and a communal lounge with fridge etc too. 5 mins walk from Altstätten Stadt station on the lovely mountain railway to Appenzell and beyond. 20 mins walk or quick bus to Altstätten SG mainline station so easy to get around without a car. "Petra was the perfect hostess. We were hoping for a refrigerator and the next morning she had one in the room for us! She was a joy and took so much pride in the property. If we had stayed in Apenzell like we’d originally planned, we would have missed seeing Lindau, which was a favorite, along with Bregenz and Dornbirn. I highly recommend this property."

"Very clean, friendly stuff and well located in the Rhine Valley. The only thing missing in the room was a minibar. Other than that it was amazingly clean, well maintained and had plenty of space for bikes and cars. Great food, plenty and amazing breakfast and all in all recommendable."

"Modern spacious room with double bed and futon that was perfect for three adults. Everything there if needed but nice Restaurant across the street. Beautiful lake view and area. Quiet after 10:00 pm Very safe !"

"Staff were helpful on check in, recommended some places to eat. However not a great deal in the area, Vaduz is a short drive away though. If wanting to stay local there is a good Irish bar who had very good and friendly staff. The location of the hotel itself is on an industrial estate, however parking is easy. Would have liked a kettle in the room to make hot drinks for the morning. Also cleaning didn’t change the towel and only one was provided, it doesn’t dry to quickly in the bathroom."
