Was not a fan of the unattended check-in. There are no employees available at the check-in lobby and it is all done on a self-serve kiosk that eventually dispenses your room keys. The room was great, and the breakfast even better! Wide variety of choices to eat, and the self-serve espresso machine was appreciated.

Everything was amazing! Only problem were the sockets in the wall, which were narrow and regular devices like a laptop charger or a hairdryer couldn’t be inserted. Other than that, especially for the price point, there are no complaints!

Automatic checkin worked fine. Room average but ok+. Industrial area but a very nice wine bar 100 m from the hotel. Breakfast ok but a lot of flies on the meat and cheese (not covered).

This is quite decent hotel in a quiet yet secluded area of a small town. The food, ambiance and service in the adjacent restaurant were great. The fully digital check in worked very well. However, in case of any complications, there is no WiFi connection available in the lobby. For anyone using a non European smartphone via WiFi (to avoid expensive Swiss data roaming), there is no way to get in touch with a local support if any urgent issues arise with the check in. Our more concerning experience is around safety/security (or lack of). During our dinner at the hotel restaurant, we were bullied by two (possibly intoxicated) men who scared us and brought our children to tears. We felt unprotected in this zero staff hotel. The restaurant was practically empty, the only other person there was the waitress. What is one to do in the case of danger? Not a family oriented/friendly place.

Ich bin sehr enttäuscht von meinem Aufenthalt im B_smart Hotel Widnau. Abends war es im Hotel extrem laut, sodass an eine erholsame Nacht kaum zu denken war. Noch schlimmer war jedoch das Verhalten der Reinigungskraft. Sie ist morgens einfach ohne anzuklopfen oder sich bemerkbar zu machen in mein Zimmer gekommen. Ich war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur mit einem Badetuch bekleidet, was eine sehr unangenehme Situation war. Anstatt sich zu entschuldigen, war die Reinigungskraft auch noch unfreundlich und forderte uns in einem unangemessenen Ton auf, das Zimmer sofort zu verlassen, obwohl ich mich noch im Zimmer fertig machte. So einen respektlosen Umgang mit der Privatsphäre habe ich noch nie erlebt. Ich werde definitiv nicht noch einmal in diesem Hotel übernachten und kann es aufgrund dieser Erfahrung leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

+: Praktische Parkplätze direkt vor Ort, modernes Gebäude und Zimmer, gute Lage für Tagesausflüge in Bodensee und Umgebung. -: Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war eher mittelmäßig. Als wir das Zimmer das erste betreten hatten war das Fenster gekippt und im Zimmer zahlreiche Fliegen und Insekten. Das Reinigungspersonal war auch eher unfreundlich als serviceorientiert. Die Türe ins Gebäude fiel nicht richtig ins Schloss, so dass theoretisch auch Menschen ohne Hotelkarte das Gebäude hätten betreten können.
