We had a terrible accident on our way to the hotel that left my daughter unable to walk and the staff did everything possible to to make our stay wonderful! The location is perfect! "This guesthouse was not what we expected upon arrival. Barely any amenities provided. There is a charge for towel service daily, if not paid, it will be every 3rd day. This is very minimal considering how hot and humid the area is, and that many people come wanting to swim, therefore the need for more towels. Adding on, there was no mention in the listing that this was for a fee, as it stated this was by request. Although this is not part of the hotel stay itself, prepare to have a long journey...

"Nice, clean location right near the water in Rio. Was very nice opening the window and seeing the beautiful scenery. Lots of stairs to reach the room. By the photos on booking site, I expected a small balcony but our room did not have one. Parking was a plus (additional fee) but was a bit of a walk (mostly uphill) to reach accommodations which was challenging in the August heat with luggage. They do offer an optional service to transport luggage which we wish we purchased in hindsight. ...

"I have got the room 114 at first floor. It should not be a room for human living. It ‘s like sitting in the street. Cannot sleep whole night. I can hear everyone in the street talking including the car engine. The heater is not working also. This hotel should not be acquired by trip advisor. It is very disappointment."

"This stay was everything I needed. The staff was very helpful and considerate. My only advice to travelers is to consider taking a taxi to get there, as the walk from the train station (and vice versa) is about a half hour, mostly uphill."

"The hotel is perfectly located just off the beach. It does not have the feel of a beach hotel but of a calm air-conditioned respite. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very good, but needs more spark. The front patio fountain and many chairs created a warm atmosphere. The hotel seemed to have more vibrance than other Monterosso al mare lodging options. Perhaps the most essentially located and comfortable hotels in all of Cinque Terre."
