"Great hotel"

"This is my honest review: The exterior of the hotel and lobby are original, with beautiful architecture, and the location is very central. However, the rooms and hallways were outdated and felt unclean—there was black mould in the grout on the bathroom tiles, and the carpets clearly needed a professional cleaning. I understand this may be part of the hotel’s “aesthetic,” but I don’t think there’s any excuse for the room being dirty. Much of the furniture in the room also felt like it needed updating. The carousel bar was packed every time we went, so we eventually gave up trying to get in (which was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel). It’s also very close to Bourbon St, so walking back after dark didn’t feel like the safest experience. Overall, nothing about the hotel really stood out to us—it was simply a place to sleep."

"HORROR SHOW HOTEL DONT STAY! front desk girl (name was a wine name LIKE KIAYANTI or similar) didnt give us the room type or view we paid for/downgraded us. Upon entering room noticing the view & ELEVATOR shaft LOUDNESS i immediately called front desk got her was told to come down for CORRECT room. got to desk she said that I physically entered room she couldn’t switch room because me entering meant I occupied it & they would need to re-clean it. Said I had to stay in THE WRONG room for at least 1 night. I was in the room for less than 2 minutes nothing disturbed. SO I asked for a manager; he told me he they were sold out WHEN I MADE a huge fuss loud where others in line could hear me the correct ROOM appeared & they moved me. Apologized SAID her giving me a lesser room than what I paid for was an error. Hmmmm The floor we got moved to 9th had a slice of Chewed PIZZA on floor in hallway for 3 days & TINY pool had more dirt & paint chips in it than water. BIGGEST ERROR we came back to ROOM from a day of sightseeing & housekeeping left our room door ajar the entire day after cleaning it. NOT just unlocked BUT AJAR - OPEN to the public. I went down to front desk the assistant manager CLAUDIA GONZALEZ was the rudest most unprofessional/unsincere hospitality worker I have ever spoken to. no sense of urgency for our belongings no sense of sorrow for the situation no concern if item were missing. security did a report. BUT Have not heard from HOTEL since regarding situation."

"asked for adjoining room with reservation 3 months ago, received an email from asst mgr that I would be 'pleased', when we checked in they wanted to have our rooms on separate floors! In order to have adjoining room we had to agree to being in rooms not 'remodeled' yet, they were not but not too bad (but not worth >300/night, more like an old comfort inn for $100/night)), worse was drilling noise (but it did stop after Sat). Check in person very unconcerned. Breakfast was good but one of our party paid cash and took 20 minutes to get change (and again, unconcerned service). I know they were busy (aren't they always in New Orleans? Fests all the time) but only parking guys were courteous."

"After more than ten visits to the French quarter I think I've found the one. Very accommodating and extremely friendly. No issues when I needed to check in early and out late. Looking forward to seeing French market inn again, and what I will call my favorite place to lay my head in the city so far!"
