"Hate to give this historic hotel a bad rating but it is a must. Parking was atrocious, no where to park to check in and the gate people were not helpful at all. The bathrooms in the main hotel were dirty. The room they gave us for $345 was subterranean in the Aspire building. When we went to check out at 7:45 am there was no one at the front desk and it had a sign saying go to the main holding which again, no parking and pretty far away. I was beyond disappointed and disgusted by this hotel. ...

"Great staff that suggested an up grade which was a great suggestion, just a first class place. When we go back we will stay long than 1 night. We didn't want to leave."

"Bathroom shower area was not very clean. Top ledge of shower in right corner had someone's old soap wrapper and left corner had a huge dust or hairball. Husband took pics of shower to show what he thought was mold and they said it wasn't. Not a 4 star establishment."

"Decent location but the lake isn’t directly visible from the property. A bit of an older, rustic feel to the rooms. They have a guitarist/singer that plays outside which is nice but we didn’t sit to listen. Breakfast is hard boiled eggs and bagels for the most part."

"Loved the Ponderosa! So cozy & relaxing. The river view & decks with the hammock swings were amazing. Elk right outside our room on the river . We will definitely be back for our next stay."

"Great location, loved sitting on the deck and looking at the mountains. The hot tub inside the room was dirty, had not been cleaned from previous use, I had to clean it myself. The well water that fills it is yellow and leaves a residue. There was also crusty stuff on the bedspread, and the bed and pillows were pretty uncomfortable. Good price for the location and size of the room, but don't think it would be our first choice if we go back to Estes."

"TV didn't work. The hotel is very worn and dated and in need of extensive renovation. Pleasant staff however!!"

"Had a 2 bedroom loft unit which was clean and well maintained. The outside grounds appear to be not kept up as well as the units themselves."
