"It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good. The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well."

"After booking online i rang to request a cot & sofa bed to be made up. After 20minutes the man found my booking. He kept asking during this time for me to become a member which i declined as I didn't feel this was a good start that he couldn't find my booking of 2 rooms. Once he had i asked for a baby cot to be in one of the rooms he replied with if one is available! Surely a hotel should have enough cots for the amount of rooms they have? I asked this man to put me through to the actual hotel...

"Had a really nice night’s stay with a 3 course meal each at the hotel’s restaurant and we got an upgrade to a balcony room for £15. Friendly staff and lovely luxury hotel with luxury amenities in the room too. Only improvement could be better air conditioning as the room was still quite hot even with fan unit and ceiling fan"

"Excellent service from staff. Good quality linen and comfy bed. Only suggestion would be to place non wedding guests in the furthest rooms away from the celebrations as we were in rooms opposite abd it was very noisy."

"Extremely uncomfortable sleep - tiny double bed for 2 people and there was an old creaky, loud fan and the room was unbearably hot even with the fan on all night and windows open. Give people a bigger bed and buy new modern quiet fans!"

"We were told we would receive a complimentary pack containing washing up liquid etc but never received it"
