"Hotel listed as 5 stars, but certainly not the standard of Melia hotels in Madrid and Seville. It is a series of corridors with restaurants and bars which are either not open at all - Cafe de Paris Bistro. Salon and bar only open for weddings and other functions. No lounge or other bar, coffeeshop facilities. Parking very limited, first come, first served and only one disabled space that they let anyone use! Really unhelpful female receptionist. Good breakfast. Room comfortable and good shower and bathroom - decent enough for a 4 star hotel, with nice view of municipal gardens. Convenient for old town and all the excellent bars and restaurants there."
Parador De Cangas De Onis

"The parador is unique, being a restored former monastery. There are two distinct parts to the hotel, one modern building attached to the older monastery. When we stayed there were very few people and it was like being in a ‘stately’ home all by ourselves. There were antiques in the halls and a long library to sit in and contemplate. There are archaeological excavations still happening and you feel part of history in the making. The geographical situation of the parador is excellent being just outside cangas de onis and in the foothills of the picos."

"Great value for the money. My only complaint is that there’s a lot of banging around sometimes but fortunately it doesn’t seem to happen at night so it may just be cleaning people. Otherwise exactly as described and great all around."

"La ubicaciòn del hotel muy buena, entre la estaciòn de tren y Centro.Hotel bonito, camas incomodas ( una cama" grande" dos pequeñas, una buen estado la otra no)Pedimos una cafetera para el cuarto, ya que no la tiene ademas tuvimos estancia de 12 dias. Gimnasio mal estado (nevera para botellas de agua no enfria) Equipo en mal estado. El Rooftop 10/10 buena comida buen servicio. Al la salida de la estadia, intentaron cobrarnos algo que no habiamos consumido y nos dejò un mal sabor de todo lo bueno."

"Last visited this hotel on 2007. It hasn’t changed much, although it looks like they are making a start. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Staff were friendly and helpfully. Don’t expect luxury, but it’s fine if you want a base for a few days."
